Tom Brady airs the one major grievance with his Netflix roast

The Netflix roast of former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was considered an overwhelming success by any standard.

However, Brady recently disclosed during an appearance on “The Pivot” podcast that there was one part of the event that he took issue with: how the jokes about his personal life affected his kids.

“I liked when the jokes were about me,” Brady said. “I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the way they affected my kids. It's the hardest part about…like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn't do that again because of the way that it affected the people that I care about the most in the world.”

For the most part, Brady seemed to enjoy all of the laughs being had at his expense, and he didn’t seem bothered by any of the personal subject matter that touched on his former teammate Aaron Hernandez, his ex-wife Giselle Bundchen or his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

In fact, only one joke seemed to touch a nerve — one made by Jeff Ross involving Robert Kraft with a punchline about massages.

Brady stated after the fact that he had no problem being the butt of the jokes during the three-hour comedy special, but he admitted he failed to take the big picture into account when it came to how the event would be perceived by his children.

“I love when people were making fun of me," Brady said, via ESPN. “I just want to laugh, so I wanted to do the roast. You just don't see the full picture all the time. So I think it's a good lesson for me as a parent. I'm going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it.”
