Adam Copeland opened AEW Dynamite by talking about loving all of pro wrestling.
Wednesday’s show saw Copeland bring up “the negative BS that has been spewed," referring to Punk’s negative comments regarding AEW on Ariel Helwani's The MMA Hour earlier this week. Copeland said that he wanted to open the show to celebrate all of pro wrestling.
In his promo, Copeland said he watched the likes of WWF, NWA, and Stampede Wrestling growing up because he loved all of pro wrestling. He said he realized AEW is where he needed to end his career because he saw a “murderer’s row of talent”. He dropped names such as Will Ospreay, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, FTR, and others, saying they all would be first-time matches. He said this was the most fun he’s had in the 32 years he’s been in pro wrestling.

He concluded by saying he also celebrates the names of those who started AEW, including The Young Bucks, Omega, Cody Rhodes, and Tony Khan.
“AEW has pushed this industry into a better place,” he said. “AEW has pushed everyone into a better place. It’s given more people a chance to do what they love for a living, and that should be celebrated. AEW makes pro wrestling better, more fun. And AEW is where the best wrestle.”
On The MMA Hour, Punk said that AEW “isn't a real business" and that the company "isn't a business predicated on making money, drawing money, selling tickets”. He also said that while Tony Khan was a "nice guy", he's "not a boss".
